2017/2018 Season - Houseleague Details (Tyke to Midget Juvenile )

Saturdays : Tyke, Minor Novice and Novice HL

 

Tyke Houseleague (2011)

**Important Notice About Tyke** Due to a mandate by Hockey Canada that will be implemented by the GTHL (our governing body) all "organized" minor hockey programs are required to provide only cross ice hockey for kids aged 6 and under.  There will also be no scoring, goalies or referees.

The Tyke division is for 2011 players that are ready for NTHA Houseleague.  This means they should be able to skate freely around the ice, or have completed at least one year of our LTP program.   Hockey Canada has some good resources found on their site.

  • 7-730 - Skills (4 Zones/4 Teams)
  • 730-820 - Games (Half Ice -All 4 teams - no goalies)
  • 820-830 FLOOD
  • 830-9am Skills (4 Zones/4 Teams)
  • 9-10am Games (4 Zones/ 4 Teams- no goalies) 

Tiering:

Our plan is to have 4 teams of SELECT and 4 teams of NON SELECT, however due to a lower than planned enrollment our tyke "select" will be comprised of 4 teams of 7-9 players.  

Minor Novice (2010)

The Minor Novice division is for 2010 players that are ready for NTHA Houseleague.  This means they should be able to skate freely around the ice, have participated in a Tyke program the year before, or have completed at least one year of our LTP program.

Minor Novice games/skills:

  • 100-150 
  • 150-240
  • 240-250 Flood
  • 250-340
  • 340-430

Tiering:

We are tiering this age group to make the games much more enjoyable and hopefully provide more puck time for all players

Tier A - 4 Teams – Made up of mostly NT Tyke Select players, and some stronger HL players                                          

Tier B – 4 Teams – Made up of all NT Houseleague players

 

Novice (2009)

The Novice division is for 2009 players that are ready for NTHA Houseleague.  This means they should be able to skate freely around the ice, have participated in a Minor Novice program the year before, or have completed at least one year instructional hockey program similar to our Learn To Play program.

Novice games/skill times  -  Rotates Each Week

  • 440-530
  • 530-620
  • 620-630 Flood
  • 630-720
  • 720-810

Tiering:

We are tiering this age group to make the games much more enjoyable and hopefully provide more puck time for all players

Tier A - 4 Teams – Made up of mostly NT Tyke Select players, and some stronger HL players                                          

Tier B – 4 Teams – Made up of all NT Houseleague players

 

Sundays : Minor Atom - Midget Juvenile HL

This season is made up strictly of game days.  The end of the season will include a playoff format.

Minor Atom/Atom (2008/2007)

This division is made up of two age groups, and will include Select players.  The Select players will be divided up equally among all of the teams to help make them even.

Games are played at the North Toronto Arena on Sunday mornings.

  • 840-850 Flood
  • 850-940am
  • 940-1030am

Minor Peewee/Peewee (2006/2005)

This division is made up of two age groups, and will include Select players.  The Select players will be divided up equally among all of the teams to help make them even.

Games are played at the North Toronto Arena on Sunday, from late morning to early afternoon.

  • 1130-1140 Flood
  • 1140-1230 
  • 1230-1240 Flood
  • 1240-130 

 

Minor Bantam/Bantam/Minor Midget (2004/2003/2002)

This division is made up of three age groups, and will include Select players.  The Select players will be divided up equally amongst all of the teams to help make them even.

Games are played at the De La Salle Arena on Sunday from mid-morning to early afternoon.

  • 1210-1
  • 110-2

Midget Juvenile (2001/2000)

This division is made up of two age groups, and will include Select players.  The Select players will be divided up equally amongst all of the teams to help make them even. There will be 5 teams, meaning one team will have a bye-week each week. 

Games are played at the North Toronto Arena, on mid-afternoon on Sunday.

Mandatory for all GTHL, Select and Houseleague Families

The Respect In Sport Certification Program: 

Hockey Canada, the OHF and the GTHL are mandating that all families of registered players must complete the Respect in Sport Program before the season starts.

Players will not be allowed to step onto ice until a parent has completed the course.
